Car Rides

I can't put words to how I feel.
You have to be there
in the moment with  me to understand.

An old mini van
music blaring loudly
so loudly that the cars next to me look over
the clouds are dark and stormy behind the mountains
cool air is rushing through the windows
my hair is whiping in my face

Something in my heart feels right
something in my mind feels perfect
This feeling I get
early evening in the summer
with the windows down and music blowing
This is perfect
this is right
this is what I live for
these moments of utter bliss.
